Which Android manufacturer offers the finest software updates is a known fact. For flagship and select mid-range phones, Samsung promises four Android OS upgrades and five years of security patches. And when the business updated more than 50 devices to Android 13 and One UI 5.0 in just two months, it essentially told its rivals that they have no chance of catching up.
Even while Chinese manufacturers like OnePlus recently declared that their handsets would receive four Android OS updates, none of them have nearly as many devices on the market as Samsung and still delay the release of significant new updates. Additionally, OnePlus and similar companies only guarantee four OS upgrades for new handsets.
The One UI 5.1 rollout may occur more quickly than One UI 5.0 did.
And it appears like Samsung is aiming to demonstrate in 2023 that its enthusiasm for upgrades and sending them to users as swiftly as possible won’t wane any time soon. That is, if we evaluate the firm by the way it has at least begun to develop One UI 5.1 and is already prepared to update numerous phones to it once the Galaxy S23 is available for purchase. By rapidly rolling out the One UI 5.0 and Android 13 upgrade to so many Galaxy devices, Samsung has already done an outstanding job. Rather than pausing, the corporation has simply moved its attention to other projects.
Of course, it helps that One UI 5.1 will be a much smaller upgrade than One UI 5.0/Android 13, but even so, it’s plain astonishing that Samsung has been operating at full throttle for the past few months and has no plans to slow down any time soon. In essence, the Korean tech giant is hellbent on maintaining software support for current smartphones at the same time even though the Galaxy S23 may be its primary focus at the moment.
